On September 20th, GARDALAND hosted the eighth edition of the PARKSMANIA AWARDS, the so-called "Amusement park Oscars", namely the award that since the year 2000 the Parksmania.it organization has been assigning to the parks that have distinguished themselves in the Italian and European scenario of this sector. In the course of the years, the prize has grown in prestige and importance and today is for all theme parks an important indicator of the opinion and appreciation of the visiting public. The prizes are assigned based on careful surveys, monitoring operations and direct on-site verification by the Commission’s members.
The Parksmania Awards prize-giving ceremony is the event that ideally closes the summer season of all amusement parks, a time when overall assessments are made before starting again with Halloween and winter season events. The ceremony also provides the sector with visibility and contributes in disseminating “amusement culture” as promoted by Parksmania.
This year’s prize-giving ceremony took place inside the enormous and charming Gardaland Theatre before an audience of 800, among which many Italian amusement park operators, the representatives of Disneyland Resort Paris (France) and Europa Park (Germany), attraction manufacturers, sector operators and experts, consumer agencies, the press and park fans. It was as usual an important occasion for meeting, acquisition of know-how and of exchange among operators.
The show was impeccably animated by the artistic cast of Gardaland and Minitalia Leolandia Park, directed by Filippo Tassi and Federico Bellone, and featured the extraordinary video-participation of Stitch – one of Disney’s most beloved and amusing movie characters - broadcast “live” from Walt Disney Studios Park Paris. |
